ScoreGlance Privacy Policy

ScoreGlance (“we,” “us”) provides Connect IQ watch apps (ScoreGlance MLB, ScoreGlance NFL) that show your favorite sports team's score on Garmin devices. This policy explains what data the apps handle and why.

What the app does

When you select a favorite team in the app's settings (via the Garmin Connect Mobile app), your watch periodically sends a request containing that team's abbreviation (e.g. “HOU”) to our proxy server, which returns the current score. This request happens automatically in the background and when you open the app.

What we collect

The proxy server (hosted on Vercel) receives your selected team abbreviation and standard web request metadata (IP address, timestamp) as part of normal server operation. We do not collect your name, Garmin account information, location, health data, or any other personal information. The app has no account system and no user profile.

Request logs (including IP addresses) may be retained briefly by our hosting provider (Vercel) and our caching provider (Upstash) for operational purposes — debugging, abuse prevention, rate limiting — and are not used for tracking, advertising, or sold to any third party.

Third parties

Score data is sourced from MLB's official Stats API (statsapi.mlb.com) and ESPN's public scoreboard API. We do not send your data to these sources beyond the outbound score-lookup request itself; neither receives any identifying information about you specifically.

Data retention

We do not maintain a database of users. Your favorite-team selection is stored locally on your Garmin device (via Connect IQ's app settings storage) and is never transmitted to us in an identifiable/stored form beyond the momentary score-lookup request.

Your choices

Uninstalling the app from your device (via Garmin Connect Mobile or Garmin Express) removes all locally stored settings. Since we retain no persistent user records, there is no separate account-deletion process needed.
